China Dwarf Bamboo

Bambusa guangxiensis

Synonyms: None

China Dwarf Bamboo is a thick, branching type bamboo suitable for use as a hedging plant or low-maintenance screen. Although growing to around 4m in height, China Dwarf can be pruned to a lower height. Pruning will encourage new shoots and denser growth. A hard prune at least once a year will keep it dense and refresh the plant.

Chinese Dwarf Bamboo will maintain a dense cover of foliage in most areas around Brisbane. However, like most bamboo, some leaf loss is to be expected in winter. This varies a lot depending on location and microclimate.
