If you’re looking for a tall and dense screening plant, Lillypilly ‘Select’ is one of the best varieties available. It has been selectively bred to be resistant to psyllid pests and other afflictions common to the genus. Has neat and fast growth, with new leaves emerging an orange/bronze colour before hardening off to a mid-green.

Most often this variety is clipped to form a dense “brick wall” screen or hedge. It can also be left unclipped where it will grow into a small conical tree. Also suitable for topiary. Responds very well to regular pruning. Like most hedging plants though, don’t try and clip it too narrow or you’ll end up with an unsightly mess full of holes.
